Leaf Shapes (Botany Cabinet) Nomenclature Book & Card Set
This nomenclature book and card set presents photographs and definitions of 18 actual leaves whose shapes are represented in the botany cabinet (cordate, lanceolate, reniform, etc.).
The materials use photos of real leaves to depict each shape. The definitions include the etymology of each shape name. For example, the cordate leaf definition includes the Latin root for cordatus—heart-shaped.
This set includes:
• Vocabulary cards (photos of each leaf shape)
• Definition book (photos and definitions of each leaf shape)
• 3-part cards (photos and terms in a 3-part format)
• Definition cards (for definitions-in-stages work)
Begin by using the vocabulary cards in 3-period lessons alongside the botany cabinet. Then, read the book together. Next, introduce the 3-part cards for independent terminology practice. Finally, combine the photos from the vocabulary cards with the definition cards to rebuild the book. The book acts as a control of error.
All materials in this set are laminated (food-grade) and ready for use. Detailed lesson plans included. Made in the USA by Maitri Learning.
