The Land Of The Parts Of Speech

This is a story about a land where the parts of speech are the characters. The Montessori grammar symbols are the framework for this clever way to introduce or reinforce the roles of the parts of speech. The king, of course, is the Noun (black triangle) and is in charge of everything. The Verb is a red circle, always on the move. The Article and Adjective are prominent characters, the Adverb and Pronoun also. The Conjunction and Preposition have roles too. The story originates from a lecture given by Mario Montessori in the late 1950's at a course in Frankfurt, Germany. Spiral-bound paperback, 28 pages. Ages 6+.
