Patterns occur naturally in all forms of life. This set of illustrated picture cards (4¾" x 3½") shows 12 living things, six with stripes and six with spots.
Three replicards (8½" x 11") duplicate each subject, but without their distinctive markings. Photocopy the replicards to produce worksheets. The child completes the worksheets by labeling the subject and coloring in its stripes or spots, using the picture cards for reference.
Subjects include: an angelfish, a swallowtail butterfly, a petunia, a coral snake, a tiger, a zebra, a banana, a ladybird beetle, a cheetah, a dalmation, a leopard frog, and a thrush.
