This outstanding classroom-ready activity set gives children hands-on experience using the three primary colors to create secondary colors. First, the teacher fills the eye dropper bottles with red, blue, and yellow solutions made from food coloring and water (recipe with best proportions included). Then, children place one dropperful of red and one dropperful of yellow in a small bowl—like magic, orange appears!
Repeat this procedure for blue and yellow (green), and red and blue (violet). Children can use the fourth bowl for experimenting. When finished, empty all the bowls into the miniature metal bucket and empty the bucket into the sink.
