The next best thing to a piano in the classroom, this is an invaluable aid for children learning the rudiments of playing in a band. Children are introduced to following a conductor (sounding their instrument on the downbeat) and conducting each other as they play along with a series of short compositions (each with spoken introduction) performed by Sanford Jones on the piano.
As children progress through the songs, they will experience the two basic rhythm structures of double and triple beats (duple and triple) and the two basic dynamics of soft and loud (piano and forte). A broad range of short marches, waltzes, traditionals, and familiar children’s songs (Row, Row, Row You boat, Jingle Bells). 16 songs with lessons and presentation suggestions. Ages 4 and up.
