This volume will introduce children to five of the Modern Schools of Art and some of the artists who are commonly associated with each style. Chosen to appeal to young children, this set introduces Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Cubism, Abstract Art, and Surrealism.
Reproductions are labeled with the artist name on the front with a short biographical introduction of the artist and a description of the painting on the reverse.
In Learning about the Schools of Art (Step 6) children learn about the schools of art and discuss the details of the paintings. In Grouping Painting from the Same School of Art (Step 7) children sort and group paintings into the various schools.
Postcards are printed on heavy varnished cardstock. To make cards, cut out the 4¾" x 6½" images and laminate, if desired. Ages 3 and up.
